My December Calendar

Well, I met my word count goal in the month of November with 50032 words. haha. Funny me, getting just in under the gun with barely a step over the required amount. But the important thing is that I did it…and I had twenty-five minutes to spare. Now, it’s time to relax, take a bubble bath, chill the Merlot. Yeah right. I’m not sure yet what I will do with the novel I wrote, which is about 60% complete. It needs, well, a lot more work, research and substance. I took precious time away from my sequel, Sapphire Reign, to work on Nano, so I really need to get back to that since it’s more of a priority right now. Some people can work on multiple projects at once, like a certain Princess I know, but I am not one of them. I can’t disperse my energy like that. Congratulations to everyone who completed Nano and to those who gave it a good shot. Meg wrote almost double what I did. haha. Great job!!!
I have sixteen chapters written for Sapphire Reign, 90% of which is posted at TNBW, but I need to get that wrapped up so I can seek out some critters for it and have more time to provide reciprocal reviews. I hate posting raw work, especially work in progress, but I’ve already gotten some good feedback.
My critiquing circle is just about done with book reviews for Kings & Queens, so in a few months, I should be ready to seek representation. I’m nervous of course, but also very excited. I’m hoping for success but even rejections will tell me a lot about my work and submission pieces and I’m always looking to improve and learn new things.
So, I’m hoping this coming year, I’ll find the right professionals who are excited about my book. It’s sometimes a long road to publication, but I’m ready for the hike.

Good luck and congratulations!
Thanks, Darc. I had fun.
Congratulations! That’s just awesome you finished. I don’t know what I’m going to do with mine yet, either — it also needs a lot of work. The actual story arc is finished, but I’m going to have to go back and fill in plenty of gaps where I just jumped ahead in the story to keep my momentum going! I’m not going to worry too much about it until January.
Congratulations!
Well done. I came over to check on you. We’ve all been a bit quiet. I’m editing two projects now, so I’m swamped.
Thanks for stopping in. I saw your note in the forum, Joy. It’s good we took December off. Sounds like you’re going to be super busy.
