About

Hi. I’m a wife, a mom, an artist, a sports addict, a freak, a geek, a practical joker, a thrill seeker and most importantly, a child of the Most High God. The purpose of my blog is to talk about writing and to spur some creativity. Thanks for stopping in. If you like what I write about, leave a comment. 1. Hi, Courtney. It’s nice to meet you. I’m a child of said-same MHG, and came across your blog by surfing the “Writing” tag on WP’s dashboard.

I’m no one of consequence. Just a fellow wannabe writer, stopping in to say hello. :)

    God bless you.

  2. Hello, Courtney. Soulus Christus Writers Cafe gave me your web address. This is a really nice place you’ve got here. :)

In addition to being your sister in Christ, I am also a wife, mother (they grew up), freak and geek. I’m glad to meet you and will be back!

  3. Hi Courtney,

I’m also a writer, wanna be published author, mom and child (aren’t we all, some just don’t fess up to it)

    Love your blog.

  4. So, tracked you here from Christian Writer’s dot com. I admire the dexterity with which you have lassoed the Internet and are maximizing its potential. I’m a fellow writer and wordpress blogger (also on vox) as well as former resident of the Pacific Northwest. I’m going to link your site so I can keep up with you. What a blessing this is getting to do what we love.

    Be well.

  5. Thanks for the thoughtful, well-organized Amazon review.

Ha! You’re right: coming up with a succinct proposal was no picnic.

In answer to the question of who the Collectors are…Yes, they are demonic manifestations. I thought that the Master Collector being Satan made that clear, as well as the issue of the pigs, and the number of times I call them “demonic.” Not to mention the fact they have been Separated from the senses after the rebellion of their Master. (We don’t see demons represented in physical form in Scripture, whereas angels–the Unfallen–are able to eat, take people by the hand, and be seen physically.)

I’m sorry I didn’t make this more clear, I guess, but I wanted to take on a post-modern idea of vampires and align in with biblical ideas without being relegated to only the Christian fiction section of the stores. I hoped this would cross boundaries and appeal to readers who appreciate spiritual ideas without being preached at.

In case you don’t know this, I had a contest on my website–the next person to post a review being the winner of an autographed copy of Haunt of Jackals, the coming sequel. Well, you won!

  6. Hi Courtney, yes I have a blog: writermomof5.wordpress.com I found you using the ‘writing’ tag on wordpress and have really enjoyed reading your posts.

  7. Hi Courtney,

I’m glad you commented on DarcKnyt’s blog as it led me to yours. Just thought I’d pop in and say hello. I look forward to exploring your site and sharing ideas:)

  8. Hi Calliope. I’m so glad you visited my profile and took the time to read and comment. It’s nice to meet you. I recall your name on Darc’s profile from today. I’ll visit your blog as well.

  9. Hey Courtney, LOVE the advice on finding one’s voice — I agree 100%. I am working on two things here — finding MY voice, and getting ready to teach my 6/7 grade language arts students how to find THEIR voices. It’s gonna be fun.

I’m curious to know if you’re familiar with the various poetry forms listed here: nestled poem, 55-word narrative, Samurai Death Poem, 6- Word memoir and “found” poems? They are great devices, I’ve used most of these (Samrai Death poem, not yet) on my blog. It has been fun playing with these styles. Check out “Smoke Em” on my blog.

Feel free to check out my poetry collection. If you have any questions or need clarification, just leave me a comment.

    • Thanks. I’ll check it out. I know. I don’t know why i don’t have email contact. I was thinking maybe I could look for a widget, but then realized I could just put it in my bio. haha.

  11. Hi Courtney!
I know you as Amarie from tNBW :) I love your blog, and I looked at some links. It looks excellent. I think I’m going to check wordpress out. Great to hear you are a christian, as I am too.
anyway, see you around the site

    • Oh hi, Loulou. I’m so glad you paid a visit to my blog and took the time to comment. I highly recommend WP. It’s a great blog host. I have a Blogger blog too, and it lacks many of the features WP has, and this is more like a community. Over there it’s like you’re on an island and it’s hard to find people/blogs.
